There’s an old saying: “We don’t know what we don’t know.” That’s where Bridges Out of Poverty sessions come in, helping you see things differently.
Bridges out of Poverty is the intellectual property of aha! Process – an award-winning international training, consulting and publishing company providing workshops and consulting services to help improve lives and build healthy communities. I became a certified Bridges out of Poverty trainer under aha! Process in 2015 for my community. I spent several years teaching my own organization and local community groups. Then in 2019, after having trained hundreds of local community partners, I started working as an international consultant with aha! Process, offering workshops and leading the community trainer certification process on a global level. In 2024, I obtained a special license with them that permits me to coordinate and facilitate workshops anywhere in Canada or the United States under my business (you can also still book me through aha! Process if you prefer). For workshops outside of North America, clients are required to book directly through aha! Process.
The Bridges framework guides communities and professionals who work with people experiencing poverty by offering innovative yet practical, human and community-centered solutions. The framework explores economic environments and social cognitive learning theories to analyze how we all think, behave, prioritize, and make decisions. Once you have your own internal ‘aha’ moments, there’s really no turning back. The possibilities for your organization and your community become endless.
Every workshop is customized to fit the needs of each group or community that wants to learn more about poverty and how to address it. Workshops include:
- Individual Lens to improve understanding and customer/client rapport and engagement
- Institutional Lens to improve programs, services, policies and outcomes
- Community/Policy Lens to improve collaboration, cooperation and systems
- Bridges to Health and Health Care to improve health outcomes
- Getting Ahead in a just Getting by World Facilitator Certification
