After several years in social work delivery and leadership, becoming a certified professional co-active coach (CPCC) was one of the most rewarding, yet challenging things I have ever done in my career. It was quite humbling to recognize how strong my “fix it” approach was; often leading to feelings of burn out and exhaustion.
Part of the certification process was to receive and experience coaching. And while at first, I sought out a suitable coach as part of that requirement, I quickly realized that this was something I should have explored years before. Coaching is future focussed (while therapy is more focussed on the past), and I realized that focusing on future was exactly what I needed. Being coached helped me to realize my purpose and values, transform my mindset, build confidence, and quite honestly, shift my entire career to where I am today. Coaching guided me through my biggest struggles and helped me strive to embrace a better version of myself through it all.

Team and leadership coaching is also an invaluable tool for developing people’s strengths and setting goals for continuous improvement.
There are several organizational benefits to team coaching:
- Empowers individuals and encourages them to take responsibility
